Da Xep Nature Park
Overview
Formed 320 million years ago, Da Xep Nature Park is a captivating artwork of Mother Nature amidst Halong Bay.
Where is it?
Located approximately 30 km southeast of Tuan Chau Marina and 25 km from Halong International Cruise Port, Da Xep belongs to the sightseeing route 4 in Halong Bay - The UNESCO World Heritage Site.
What is Da Xep Nature Park famous for?
Da Xep Park is a geological park where nature has sculpted a miracle display of karst islands. Unlike most karst formations in the bay, islands in Da Xep are intricately cracked and folded by water, wind and tectonic movements, resulting in an exclusive arrangement of relatively even, square, and flat limestone rocks stacked on top of each other. With a height of 21 meters and a tapered shape from bottom to top, Xep rock islands resemble splendid Egyptian pyramids. That inspires the curiosity of not only geologists but also visitors worldwide. Greenery, small beaches formed from coral debris and mollusk shells, and tranquil scenery make Da Xep Park an ideal area for sightseeing and relaxing.
What to do?
Thanks to the extraordinary beauty of stacked rocky islands, the park is one of the most sought-after spots in Halong. Visitors can immerse in the stunning landscape and learn about the bay's unique formation over millions of years. Kayaking around the island to see the verdant plants and marine life is an unmissable activity here.
How to get there?
Currently, due to the distance and high safety and environmental requirements, travelers can not visit Da Xep Park on a day tour and not all overnight cruises are licensed to access it. The only cruise line that offers this excursion is Grand Pioneers Cruise on their 3 day/2 night legacy journey. Thus, if you are planning to admire this stunning place, make sure you have at least 2 nights to spend on the Halong Bay Cruise.
